cultural similarities

Each encounter in interpreting may reveal a similarity that harkens from my childhood. Today’s post “A Single Red Thread” triggered fond memories of a childhood superstition. We were taught to protect ourselves from evil people by wearing the color red. Why? The “bad eye” roams the world and who knows what person will cast an evil spell. Red protects you. I learned Latino cultures embrace the same practice with a red bracelet around an infant’s wrist or to call on the color red to heal hiccups. Enjoy and share cultural similarities from your assignments.
